DBSA Princeton Guest Speakers

July 13, 2010:  In Our Own Voice by NAMI Mercer

Two speakers who are in recovery from mental illness will share their stories. This program educates, empowers and inspires mental health consumers, families and the general public.


August 10, 2010:  Social Security Q & A with Huntley Forrester, NJ WINS

Mr. Forrester of NJ WINS (Work Incentive Network Support) will speak and take questions on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Suppplemental Security Income (SSI). NJ WINS helps persons receiving such benefits return to work using available incentives.


September 14, 2010:  Ask the Doctor with Dr. Ricardo Fernandez, Princeton Family Care Associates

Dr. Fernandez, a psychopharmacologist, will speak on mood disorders and take your questions.


October 12, 2010:  Journaling and Writing with Howard Hall,  

Howard Hall, a poet in the Greater Philly area, will speak about journaling, and writing our thoughts in poetry. His book, Cool Menthol Woman—haiku and other verse, is available on Amazon.com.


November 9, 2010:  Workplace Rights for Persons with Emotional Disabilities with Ralph Gerstein,J.D.

Ralph Gerstein will address the topic and take questions on the rights of individuals who have emotional disabilities in the workplace. Mr. Gerstein resides in the Princeton area. His practice emphasizes education law, personal injury, real estate, business law, employment law, and trusts and estates.


December 14, 2010:  21st Century Nutrition with William P. Hayes, MD, Alexandar Road Associates.

Dr. Hayes will provide lifestyle information focusing on the role of nutrition, exercise, relationships and stress management as a means to optimize your heath and promote recovery from mental and physical illness. No treatment program is complete without addressing lifestyle changes that support optimal health and recovery. Dr. Hayes is a recent graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC.


Donations, to defray costs of ordering brochures, making photocopies and such expenses, are welcome. We do not make a collection during the meeting. You can approach the facilitator if you wish to contribute.

All speaker meetings are held on Tuesdays, 7:30 PM - 9:15 PM at Lambert House, University Medical Center at Princeton.
